In the novel The Unvanquished, compiled by William Faulkner, honor is usually dealt with first hand through the entire novel. In some instances, like Ab Snopes, you will find a major insufficient honor. But the heroes Bayard and his Grandmother, Granny, have honor, and a lot of it. Though Granny dies, it really is an honorable death that brings about honor in Bayard. Bayard is definitely a young man and is usually changing, as he grows therefore does indeed his honor. When ultimately he shows his honor in lots of various ways. Ab Snopes is a conniving devious identity that is merely in the battle for booty. Ab never shows accurate honor in this novel, and perhaps anywhere because he does not have any honor. Honor plays an integral portion in this novel and is usually vividly shown by each persona.

Granny takes care of Bayard and his dark-colored friend Ringo for almost all of the book. She dealt with crisis, and had to accomplish some bad things, but she achieved it honorably, and taught both boys about honor. Granny ran a business with Bayard Ringo where they stole mules and horses from the Yankees, then sold them again. She was a southern girl, which was her way of fighting the battle. Because she desired the boys help do this, they had to accomplish some sinful points. Granny took the responsibility of the sins: I've sinned. I've stolen and I've born false wittiness against my neighbor, though that neighbor was an enemy of my region. And a lot more than that, I've caused these kids to sin. I
