An It Proposal for Network Management from the College of Computing and Information Sciences(Makerere University, Uganda)
A GREAT IT PITCH FOR NETWORK MANAGEMENT IN THE COLLEGE OF COMPUTING AND INFORMATION SCIENCES(MAKERERE UNIVERSITY, UGANDA) Introduction
The school of Calculating and Information Sciences (COCIS) Makerere University or college in Uganda was established on 13th December 2010. It is made up of the college of Processing and Informatics Technology (CIT) and the East African College of Collection and Information Science (EASLIS). COCIS is among the largest computer and ICT training, info science, exploration and consultancy colleges in Africa. This cuts across as a world class College and has taken care of its place as an icon of excellence for the continent. It can be committed to providing excellent services in the area of Computer, Library, Data and Info Sciences and attracts both local and international pupils. COCIS boasts of the state of the art system including spiel theaters, big computer laboratories, specialized pc laboratories and a college library. The set up academic personnel strength with the College is around 300 educating staff including 30 visiting and local professors. Over 20 or so of these personnel hold doctorate, with many other folks in advanced stages of completing their particular PhD research. This merger has found a pool of solutions and features like computer laboratories, particular laboratories, publication libraries, periodicals, cameras, and personnel the two administrative and academic personnel. To maximize production and efficiency, the college of computing and informatics technology(CoCIS) routinely depends on the network to support the operations starting from E-learning activities on the E-Learning environment(Muele) to back up services wanted to students and staff, providers like entry to wireless internet, access to the internet through the Domain(CoCIS domain) The network topology used by the school is an extended star LOCAL AREA NETWORK that is used with network products that filtration frames or perhaps packets, just like switches, and routers.
